Home

Taberna is home to residents of all ages.  From grandparents to growing families, "Tabernians" are vibrant, active, movers-and-shakers, who are known for serving their New Bern community, whether they are teachers, artists, retirees, business owners, military personnel...and that is just a short list!  Tabernians not only make Taberna a better place, but they also contribute to the entire local community by sharing their gifts, their myriad business knowledge, and their rich and diverse life experiences.

As diverse as Taberna residents are, we all seem to have one thing in common: we treasure a clean and safe neighborhood in which our homes and properties maintain their value and appeal.  A necessary component of this quality of life is that we share the same expectations and standards of neighborhood living.  In order to help maintain these standards and this quality of life, Taberna has a Master Home Owners Association.  Our HOA is comprised of volunteers who donate their time and energy toward ensuring that the covenants are upheld.

The Taberna Homeowners Association Mission

The Taberna Homeowners Association Board is an organization that strives to maintain the aesthetic beauty and functional value of property within Taberna; that will continue to improve while being sensitive to dues increases; that makes informed decisions representative of the majority interest; and that focuses on maintaining an active and cohesive community environment.

Notice to Right of Voluntary Mediation

Pursuant to Section 7A-38.3F of the North Carolina General Statutes, all members are hereby informed that you have a right to initiate mediation pursuant to the terms of the statute to try to resolve a dispute with the Association. Both the homeowner and the Association must agree to mediate the dispute, and each side is responsible for splitting the cost of the mediation, including payment of a professional mediator. The mediation process is an opportunity to reach an agreement to resolve a dispute – neither side gives up their right to go to court to have a judge resolve the dispute if the parties are not able to reach an agreement through mediation. The specific process to initiate voluntary mediation is outlined in Section 7A-38.3F of the North Carolina General Statutes.
